DESCRIPTION: The Careers & Technology teacher will focus on career development and is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. In addition to traditional STEM teaching responsibilities, this role will emphasize the practical applications of STEM subjects in various careers, guiding students towards exploring and planning for future career paths.

 

GOAL: To provide an educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth and maturation  in accordance with system philosophy, goals, and objectives. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university 
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate in Math, Science, or Technology  

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement engaging STEM curriculum with an emphasis on real-world applications and career pathways
• Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration
• Incorporate career exploration activities into lesson plans to help students understand the relevance of STEM subjects in various professions
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students interested in pursuing STEM-related careers
• Collaborate with industry professionals to bring real-world expertise into the classroom
• Organize field trips, guest speaker events, and workshops to expose students to diverse STEM career opportunities
• Monitor and assess student progress in both academic performance and career readiness skills
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on trends in STEM education and career development
• Demonstrated skills in developing positive student connections
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

RATE OF PAY:  Per the Master Agreement
